Anchorage, Alaska – In a shocking turn of events, 45-year-old Sean Mobley has been charged with distributing carfentanil, a highly potent opioid, to two individuals in Anchorage, Alaska on November 14 and 15, 2024. The victims, one adult and one minor, allegedly used the substance and overdosed. The adult victim was revived by Narcan, but the minor victim died.
Mobley is accused of dumping the minor victim’s body onto a secluded ATV trail in Wasilla in the middle of the night. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 20 years and up to life in prison.
Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations, has led to the arrest and charging of 39 defendants in Alaska, including Mobley. The operation aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration and protect communities from violent crime and drug trafficking.
Among the 28 cases charged between January 21, 2025, and June 10, 2025, the case against Mobley highlights the impact of Operation Take Back America in Alaska.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska has worked tirelessly to concentrate efforts on national law enforcement priorities and aggressively charge individuals for perpetrating crimes that most significantly impact public safety.
The investigation was led by the DEA, with assistance from the FBI and ATF. The case is ongoing, and Mobley is currently facing charges in federal court.
