East Texas Women Sentenced for Methamphetamine Trafficking
TYLER, Texas – In a major blow to the illicit drug trade, two East Texas women have been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
Stacie Serenko, 29, of Tyler, Texas, pleaded guilty on February 7, 2013, to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.
Serenko was found to be in possession of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, which she intended to distribute to others. Her accomplice, Jennifer Northcutt, 42, of Mineola, Texas, pleaded guilty on February 5, 2013, to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison today by Judge Davis.
According to information presented in court, both Serenko and Northcutt were found in possession of methamphetamine on August 21, 2010. Northcutt was also found to be in possession of a firearm.
This case is being investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mineola Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Baldwin.
