A 40-year-old Seattle man, Raymond Lawrence Massey, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for illegally possessing a loaded ‘ghost gun’ after failing to register as a sex offender and absconding from community supervision in Washington. Massey was convicted in 2011 of assault with sexual motivation and was required to register as a sex offender. However, he left his supervised area and moved to Seattle without registering, putting the community at risk. When authorities finally caught up with him, they found him in possession of a privately manufactured 9mm firearm, loaded with a red dot sight on the barrel.
