Lorenzo Turner, a 43-year-old recidivist sex offender from Washington D.C., has been charged with sex trafficking minors in Baltimore. Between May 2024 and August 2024, Turner allegedly recruited, enticed, and transported two minor victims to engage in commercial sex acts. The crimes were committed in Baltimore, and Turner is now facing federal charges. The investigation was led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, along with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Baltimore Police Department (BPD).
According to the indictment, Turner began targeting Minor Victim 1 in May 2024, and Minor Victim 2 in July 2024. He allegedly used coercion and manipulation to force the minors into commercial sex acts. Turner’s actions are a disturbing example of the sex trafficking epidemic that plagues cities across the United States.
The charges against Turner include two counts of sex trafficking a minor, two counts of transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and one count of commission of a felony crime involving a minor by a registered sex offender. If convicted, Turner faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison for each count of sex trafficking, and up to life in prison.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. The project aims to identify and prosecute individuals who engage in the sexual exploitation of children, and to provide support and resources to victims and their families.
