Jazzmen La Vone Gaskins, a 39-year-old Texas man, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for sex trafficking in Florida. Between July 2023 and March 2024, Gaskins used force, threats, and coercion to force his victim into commercial sex acts. The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Courtney Derry.
Gaskins pleaded guilty on April 2, 2026, and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell. As part of his sentence, the court ordered the forfeiture of $40,000, the proceeds of the sex trafficking operation.
