A 48-year-old Tallahassee man has landed five years in federal prison for trying to meet a minor for sex in exchange for cash.
Vertis McNeil Robinson was busted in a joint operation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Tallahassee Police Department targeting online child predators.
According to court docs, Robinson thought he was chatting with a minor online and asked them to send a sexually explicit image. But in reality, he was talking to an undercover cop.
U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin vowed to keep prosecuting online child predators, saying ‘our kids are safer because of our tireless efforts to bring these monsters to justice.’
After serving his time, Robinson will be a registered sex offender.
