AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ABUSE BY FORCE AND ATTEMPTED ABUSE HANG IN THE BALANCE FOR LITTLE EAGLE MAN
Little Eagle, SD – A local man has been charged with two serious crimes after a federal grand jury indicted him on December 11, 2012. Ronnie Fire Cloud, age 37, has been accused of Aggravated Sexual Abuse by Force and Attempted Aggravated Sexual Abuse by Force.
Fire Cloud made his first court appearance on January 31, 2013, in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge William D. Gerdes. During the hearing, he pleaded not guilty to the indictment. If convicted, he could face a maximum penalty of any term of years or life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine or both, and a mandatory minimum term of 5 years up to life of supervised release.
The investigation into Fire Cloud’s alleged crimes is being led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy Morley handling the prosecution. Fire Cloud was released on bond pending trial, and a trial date has yet to be set.
