Anthony Michael Tucker, Receipt of Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography, Iowa 2024

SIOUX CITY, IA – Anthony Michael Tucker, 35, of Sioux City, Iowa, is headed to federal prison for 16 years after a jury found him guilty of sickening crimes against children. The sentence, handed down May 16, 2024, reflects the gravity of his offenses: Receipt of Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography. This isn’t Tucker’s first brush with the law involving the abuse of a minor.

The case unfolded after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a Cybertip from Google in January 2022. The tip flagged accounts linked to Tucker containing a horrifying trove of digital abuse – over 85 images and seven videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children. The content wasn’t just disturbing; it included depictions of sadistic acts and featured prepubescent children and toddlers. Investigators discovered Tucker wasn’t simply *receiving* this material, he was actively collecting it.

During trial, jurors were forced to view a video recording of an interview with Tucker conducted by an Iowa DCI agent. In it, Tucker chillingly admitted responsibility for the content on the Google account, and then casually confessed to having even more. He stated, “there’s more that I run across…those are just the ones I kept.” This admission painted a clear picture of a man deliberately seeking out and hoarding images and videos of child sexual abuse.

This conviction isn’t an isolated incident. In 2010, Tucker, then 21 years old, was convicted of Lascivious Acts with a Child, engaging in sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old female. The repeat offense undoubtedly factored into the severity of the sentence handed down by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand. Tucker was sentenced to 192 months’ imprisonment, ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to the victims, and an additional $1,200 in fines and assessments.

Beyond the prison term, Tucker will also serve a 5-year term of supervised release upon his eventual release. However, those seeking a path to early release should be aware: there is no parole in the federal system. He is currently in the custody of the United States Marshals awaiting transport to a designated federal prison. This case was brought forth as part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation, and demonstrates a continued effort to bring predators like Tucker to justice.

The investigation was led by the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation, Cyber Crime Bureau, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kraig R. Hamit.
