Slidell Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Crack Cocaine Conspiracy
A 36-year-old Slidell man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a cocaine conspiracy. Michael Page, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Lance M. Africk after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as crack.
According to court documents, Page conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute at least 28 grams of crack cocaine from February 2010 to September 2010.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the Narcotics Unit of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward J. Rivera. Page will serve 60 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. During this time, he will be under federal supervision and risks an additional term of imprisonment if he violates any terms of the supervised release.
The charges against Page carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
