A Martinsburg man’s scheme to purchase, possess, and transfer firearms to individuals who couldn’t legally purchase or possess them has landed him a 60-month prison sentence.
Solomon Williams, 29, of Reading, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in November 2021 to one count of ‘Conspiracy.’
The crimes took place from April 2019 to December 2020 in Berkeley County and elsewhere, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Williams admitted to working with others to facilitate the illicit firearms trade.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, while the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation.
U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the case, handing down the 60-month sentence.
