Son of Somerset Caught with Child Porn
A 59-year-old Somerset man, Anthony W. Hornbaker, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography. He will also serve supervised release for life.
According to court documents, Hornbaker knowingly possessed pictures and videos of prepubescent minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct on July 28, 2017. These files were shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.
The Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Somerset Borough Police Department investigated the case and brought it to the United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines led the prosecution.
U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady commended the agencies involved in the investigation, stating that their efforts led to the successful prosecution of Hornbaker.
Anthony W. Hornbaker, 59, was sentenced by United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson.
Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, brought this case to justice. Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and to identify and rescue victims.
