San Jose – Ramon Daniel Quezada, a South Bay drug kingpin, was today sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for his role in a heroin and methamphetamine conspiracy. The verdict was announced by United States Attorney Brian J. Stretch and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge John J. Martin.
Quezada, aged 26, admitted to selling drugs with two individuals between April and May 2016. He used his phone to communicate with buyers and arrange sales, earning profits from the drug trade. On May 27, 2016, Quezada was found in possession of a firearm at his home, along with nearly 1,745 grams of methamphetamine and over 1000 grams of heroin.
Quezada was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 7, 2016, charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute both drugs. He pleaded guilty to the heroin charges, with methamphetamine counts dismissed. In addition to his prison term, Judge Beth Labson Freeman ordered five years of supervised release and forfeiture of a handgun, magazines, and ammunition.
The prosecution was carried out by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeff Nedrow with Susan Kreider’s assistance. The DEA investigation led to Quezada’s conviction.
Quezada is currently in custody, set to begin his sentence immediately.
