Krystle Marie Owen, Methamphetamine Distribution, Arkansas 2022

FAYETTEVILLE – Krystle Marie Owen, a 36-year-old Springdale woman, was sentenced today to 137 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for distributing methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by Honorable Judge Timothy L. Brooks in the United States District Court in Fayetteville.

According to court documents, local law enforcement began investigating Owen and a drug trafficking organization operating in the Western District of Arkansas in March 2021. Owen was identified as a member of the group after authorities conducted a controlled purchase of meth from her in January 2022. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

In February 2022, Owen was arrested by the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force following an attempt to flee with over 1,600 fentanyl pills. She faced additional charges for her role in a large-scale drug trafficking organization that included defendants Antonio Hernandez, Michael Southerland, Troy Franklin, and Skylar Houston, all previously sentenced.

U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes announced the sentence, which was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations. The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force investigated the case with assistance from the Rogers Police Department, and Assistant U.S. Attorney David Harris prosecuted it.

The OCDETF Program is a multi-agency approach focused on identifying, disrupting, and dismantling criminal organizations that threaten the United States. More information about the program can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
