Council Bluffs Man Sentenced for Methamphetamine Distribution

Council Bluffs, IA – In a shocking turn of events, a local resident has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in a massive methamphetamine distribution ring.

A United States District Court Judge has sentenced 50-year-old Jeffrey Scott Gibler to 120 months in prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and 60 months consecutive for carrying and possessing a firearm in relation to the crime.

The investigation, led by the Southwest Iowa Narcotics Task Force, revealed that Gibler conspired with others to distribute over two kilograms of methamphetamine in the Southern District of Iowa between March and October 2013.

Gibler’s guilty plea on January 1, 2015, was the result of a lengthy investigation into the drug trafficking activities in Pottawattamie County.

The court also ordered Gibler to serve ten years of supervised release following his imprisonment and pay $200 towards the Crime Victims Fund.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle to combat the scourge of methamphetamine in our community.
