Grimy Times has learned that Andre DeShazier, a 55-year-old man from St. Francis, South Dakota, has been charged with assault by striking, beating, and wounding.
According to court documents, DeShazier was involved in an incident on April 4, 2013, where he punched a victim in the head.
The case was investigated by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tim Maher.
DeShazier pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 1 year of probation on July 12, 2013, by U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno.
As part of his sentence, DeShazier was also ordered to pay $25 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
DeShazier was released after serving his sentence.
