A Visalia felon’s gun-toting ways have finally caught up with him. Pete Alvarez, 45, is accused of possessing a safe full of 17 firearms, including several short-barrel guns without serial numbers, in his bedroom.
The discovery was made during an investigation into a shooting, where law enforcement executed a search warrant at Alvarez’s residence on [date].
Alvarez is no stranger to the law, having prior felony convictions in Fresno County for assault with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm, battery causing serious injury, and assault with a deadly weapon.
He now faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
The investigation is being led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Fresno Police Department, and the Tulare Police Department.
