Armando Rivera-Sereno, Firearms Possession, Ohio 2024

⏱ 2 min read

A Mexican national, with a history of reentering the US illegally, fired a shot in his Columbus garage, leading to a firearms possession charge. Armando Rivera-Sereno, 41, was found with a pistol, rifle, and ammo on September 9, 2024.

He’d been removed from the country five times before his 2022 conviction for unlawful reentry. Today, a grand jury indicted him on two counts of illegally possessing a firearm.

Each charge carries a 15-year prison sentence.

Assistant Deputy Criminal Chief Brian J. Martinez will represent the US in this case, part of the Department of Justice’s nationwide Operation Take Back America.
