A 46-year-old Bowdoinham man is headed to the slammer for two years after getting caught with a stash of guns. Rodney Skipper pleaded guilty on September 11, 2025, to possessing firearms despite a prior felony conviction for assaultive conduct.
Brunswick cops responded to a Walmart shoplifting call and found Skipper lurking outside with a pistol holster on his hip. They searched his vehicle and uncovered three guns: a 9mm, a .40 caliber, and a 10mm pistol.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) teamed up with the Brunswick PD to crack the case. Operation Take Back America, a Justice Department initiative, aims to tackle violent crime and protect communities.
U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. handed down the sentence, which will be followed by three years of supervised release. Skipper’s crime is a serious one, and he’ll be paying the price for his gun stash.
