ST. LOUIS – A massive drug ring operating in the heart of St. Louis has been dealt a severe blow as two key players have admitted their roles in a fentanyl-laden conspiracy. Dennis M. Davis, 47, and Shem J. Guy, 34, pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges for their involvement in selling drugs that began at least in 2019.
During an intense DEA investigation, agents caught Davis, Guy, and their cohorts in a web of drug purchases and sales. The crackdown reached its climax on September 6, 2023, when authorities seized $12,323 in cash, multiple firearms, and nearly 5 kilograms of fentanyl, along with significant amounts of marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and meth.
Davis is poised to face a sentence ranging from 10 years to life in prison, while Guy could serve up to 20 years behind bars. Both are looking at fines that could reach $5 million for Davis and $1 million for Guy. In addition to their prison terms and fines, both men have agreed to forfeit substantial assets seized during the investigation.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between several law enforcement agencies, including the DEA, IRS, FBI, and local police departments. Assistant U.S. Attorney James Delworth is handling the prosecution.
