A 43-year-old St. Louis man has been sentenced to 96 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution scheme and possessing a firearm in furtherance of that crime.
Deandre Young was arrested in March 2021 after DEA agents caught him aiding and abetting his co-defendant’s intended distribution of methamphetamine to a customer at a gas station in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Young was in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest, and he pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting a co-defendant’s possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
Young’s guilty plea was entered on October 7, 2021, and he was sentenced by Judge David Dugan in federal court in East St. Louis, Illinois.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and it was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel T. Kapsak.
