Stephanie Lima, Oxycodone Distribution, New Jersey 2013

TRENTON, N.J. – Stephanie Lima, a 41-year-old woman from Yardville, New Jersey, has admitted to her role in a notorious oxycodone ring. Lima pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, a highly addictive pain medication.

According to court documents, Lima, along with Joseph "JoJo" Giorgianni, Charles Hall III, and others, conspired to obtain oxycodone from a doctor and distribute it in exchange for payment. The scheme took place between August 2011 and September 2011.

Lima and her co-conspirators made multiple trips to a doctor in Nutley, New Jersey, where they would obtain prescriptions for oxycodone. On August 17, 2011, Lima traveled with Carol Kounitz and Hall to the doctor’s office. Although Lima was unsuccessful in obtaining a prescription, Kounitz managed to secure a prescription for oxycodone pills. The pills were then filled and provided to Hall for distribution.

Lima and Kounitz made a second trip to the doctor on September 14, 2011, during which Lima obtained a prescription for 120 15-mg oxycodone pills and Kounitz obtained a prescription for 120 30-mg oxycodone pills. The pills were later filled and provided to Hall in exchange for payment.

Lima understood Giorgianni to be overseeing the sale of the oxycodone that she and Kounitz provided to Hall.

The drug conspiracy charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Lima is scheduled to be sentenced on July 2, 2013.

U.S. Attorney Fishman credited special agents of the FBI’s Trenton Resident Agency, Newark Field Office, under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge David Velazquez, for the investigation leading to Lima’s guilty plea.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Eric W. Moran and Matthew J. Skahill of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Special Prosecutions Division in Trenton and Camden, respectively.
