Seth Dewayne Talbot, Methamphetamine Possession with Intent to Distribute and Firearm Offenses, Florida 2023

ARMED DRUG TRAFFICKER Seth Dewayne Talbot, 45, of Laurel Hill, Florida, was sentenced to 180 months by District Court Judge T. Kent Wetherell, II, for possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine, and for firearm offenses.

Talbot’s sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin, who praised law enforcement for their “outstanding work.” Talbot pleaded guilty and faced charges including possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after receiving tips that Talbot was selling illegal drugs. A search warrant at his residence yielded over 180 grams of meth, two firearms, ammunition, and cash. Talbot has multiple prior felony convictions.

DEA Miami Field Division Special Agent in Charge Deanne L. Reuter called meth “a highly addictive and insidious poison” that destroys communities, emphasizing the DEA’s commitment to holding traffickers accountable. Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden highlighted successful partnerships targeting drug trafficking.

The investigation was a joint effort by the DEA, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, and ATF, with prosecution handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica S. Etherton. The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat illegal immigration, cartels, and transnational criminal organizations.
