A 47-year-old Tallahassee resident is in deep trouble after a federal indictment pinned him for gun and drug crimes. Christopher Lamar Daniels is accused of possessing with intent to distribute multiple controlled substances, carrying a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, and possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.
The alleged crimes were discovered through a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Tallahassee Police Department.
Daniels faces a minimum 10-year prison sentence for the drug possession count, with the possibility of life behind bars. He could also be hit with a consecutive five-year sentence for carrying a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime, or up to 15 years if his prior felony convictions qualify him as an Armed Career Criminal.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at tackling cartels, transnational criminal organizations, and violent crime.
Daniels is set to go on trial on June 15, 2026, in front of District Court Judge Robert L. Hinkle.
