Tampa ‘Glock Boys’ Face Life Behind Bars in Racketeering Case

TAMPA, FL – Five Tampa residents are facing the potential of life in federal prison after being indicted on a slew of charges including conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering activity, and a sophisticated fraud scheme. The indictment, unsealed today, names Greg Kendrick (age 29), a/k/a “Cheese,” Corey Davis (age 30), a/k/a “Coe,” Arius Johnson (age 30), a/k/a “Streetz,” Damion Council (age 27), a/k/a “Dane,” and Antonio Phillips (age 26), a/k/a “Lil Glockie,” a/k/a “Twin.”

Prosecutors allege the men are members of the “Glock Boys,” or “Glockies,” a particularly violent faction of a West Tampa criminal enterprise locked in a bitter and escalating feud with the rival Robles Park gang. This turf war has reportedly spilled onto the streets of Tampa, resulting in a series of brazen shootings – including one in the parking lot of the International Plaza Mall and another in broad daylight near Walnut Street and Central Avenue. Disturbingly, the indictment notes that innocent bystanders were struck by gunfire in at least one incident.

But the Glock Boys’ criminal activity wasn’t limited to bullets and bloodshed. The indictment further details a nationwide identity theft and fraud operation. The group is accused of stealing personal information from numerous victims and using it to file hundreds of fraudulent unemployment claims across multiple states. This operation underlines the chilling reach of this criminal enterprise, extending far beyond the streets of Tampa.

This takedown comes on the heels of successful prosecutions of members of the Robles Park gang, who were convicted and sentenced throughout 2023 for similar violent and fraudulent offenses. Law enforcement officials are clearly signaling a full-scale crackdown on gang activity and related crimes in the Tampa area. The charges against the Glock Boys include conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering activity, attempted murder, discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, possessing firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon, aggravated identity theft, and possession of 15 or more unauthorized access devices.

If convicted on all counts, each defendant faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison. This isn’t just about putting individuals behind bars; it’s about dismantling a dangerous criminal network that preyed on the community and exploited the system for financial gain. The investigation was a joint effort between the Tampa Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with support from the U.S. Department of Labor. Assistant United States Attorneys Jeffrey Chang and Diego Novaes are prosecuting the case.

The case is being pursued as part of “Operation Take Back America,” a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. The operation leverages resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN). It is important to remember that an indictment is simply a formal accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
