Tampa Meth Kingpin Sentenced to 24 Years
A notorious Tampa methamphetamine dealer has been brought to justice, sentenced to a staggering 24 years and 4 months in federal prison for his crimes.
Tampa resident Christian Perez-Seda, 38, was handed down the sentence by U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday after pleading guilty to distributing and possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine in March 2024.
According to court documents, Perez-Seda’s reign of terror began on July 24, 2021, when he sold 987 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover officer in exchange for a mere $7,000. But that was just the tip of the iceberg – later that day, Perez-Seda ‘fronted’ approximately 1 kilogram of methamphetamine to a confidential informant, and was subsequently stopped by law enforcement while driving to make another sale.
During the search of his vehicle, authorities found a whopping 2 kilograms of methamphetamine, $3,686 in cash, and a Phoenix Arms .22 pistol. The sheer scale of Perez-Seda’s operation is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of methamphetamine on our communities.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant United States Attorneys Samantha Newman and Charlie Connally leading the prosecution. Assistant United States Attorney Suzanne Nebesky handled the forfeiture proceedings.
