New Orleans – It’s grim news from the federal courts of Louisiana as Bart Green, a 62-year-old Nashville native, has pleaded guilty to robbing the Regions Bank in New Orleans.
The U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that Green, who faces up to twenty years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine, admitted entering the bank on March 1, 2024, and demanding $2,000 from a teller. The Tennessee man was caught with $2000 in cash as he fled.
According to court documents, Green is also facing up to three years of supervised release and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100. His sentencing is set for September 19, 2024, before United States District Judge Eldon Fallon.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crime Task Force and the New Orleans Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul J. Hubbell of the General Crimes Unit will be handling the prosecution.
U.S. Attorney Evans commended the law enforcement agencies involved, emphasizing their efforts in bringing justice to victims of financial crime.
