Mobile Man Sentenced for Gun Charge

A federal judge sentenced Terrance Dees, 34, of Mobile, to 60 months imprisonment for being a felon in possession of two firearms.

According to court documents, the Mobile Police executed a search warrant at Dees’ residence and found marijuana, pills, and the guns. Dees had previously been convicted of three drug felonies.

Dees pled guilty to the gun charge in December of 2016. The judge ordered that Dees undergo treatment for drug abuse while in prison and as a condition of his three-year term of supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Mobile Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell prosecuted the case in the United States Attorney’s Office.

The judge also ordered Dees to pay a mandatory $100 special assessment. Dees will serve his 60-month sentence followed by three years of supervised release.
