Theodise Reece, Fentanyl and Meth Sales, Missouri 2023

A man from Ferguson, Missouri is headed to prison after selling fentanyl and methamphetamine to undercover officers.

Theodise Reece, 37, was sentenced to 93 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Matthew T. Schelp. The total time Reece will serve is approximately nine years, counting his time already spent in custody since his arrest on August 30, 2023.

According to Reece’s plea agreement, the St. Louis County Police Department set up an undercover operation after receiving several tips in June 2023 that Reece was selling illegal drugs. Reece sold $100 worth of fentanyl on June 14, 2023, followed by $150 worth of methamphetamine six days later.

Reece made four more undercover purchases and was witnessed making another sale before investigators sought a search warrant for his home. He was arrested during an undercover buy on August 30, 2023, and found with a semiautomatic pistol, nearly 40 grams of fentanyl, and 225 grams of methamphetamine.

Police also found ecstasy, cocaine base, and marijuana at the scene. Reece admitted to selling drugs for a living and was found to have an AR-style rifle in his home.

Reece pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in St. Louis in November to three felonies: distribution of fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possession of one or more firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Drug Enforcement investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Nino Przulj handling the prosecution. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program that aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence in communities.
