CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – A Chichester resident has pleaded guilty to a serious crime that could land him behind bars for years to come. Thomas Young, 46, was found guilty of unlawful firearm possession in federal court, according to a recent announcement from U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan.

Young’s guilty plea comes after a lengthy investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which led to the discovery of a firearm and ammunition sale to a confidential source on February 8, 2024. The sale was in direct violation of a previous felony drug offense conviction in New Hampshire.

According to court documents, Young’s actions could result in a maximum 15-year prison sentence, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to 3 years of supervised release. Sentencing is scheduled for July 2, 2026, before U.S. District Court Judge Landya McCafferty.
