Cocaine Trafficking and Gun Charges Rock Harrisburg Community

Three Harrisburg residents, Kevin L. Moody (27), Nathaniel P. Green (37), and Robert E. Hendrix, Jr. (38), are facing serious accusations after being indicted on August 8, 2018, by a federal grand jury for their alleged involvement in a cocaine trafficking and firearms scheme.

According to United States Attorney David J. Freed, the indictment accuses the trio of conspiring to distribute cocaine base and marijuana in late 2017. Furthermore, it alleges that they possessed these same drugs with the intent to distribute on December 15, 2017, in Dauphin County. The indictment also charges them with possessing multiple handguns in furtherance of drug trafficking and unlawfully possessing those guns as previously convicted felons.

The investigation into this case was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Harrisburg City Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carlo D. Marchioli is prosecuting the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer. The program brings together law enforcement and the community they serve to develop effective strategies to combat violent crime.

It is essential to note that indictments are only allegations, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

A sentence following a finding of guilt would be determined by the Judge after considering the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. The maximum penalty under federal law for this offense is life imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
