Federal Grand Jury Indicts Three in Firearms Charges

A federal grand jury in Louisiana has handed down a third superseding indictment charging three men with nine counts of firearms charges, including possession of firearms and ammunition by convicted felons. The indictment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing investigation into firearms trafficking in the state.

The three defendants, NOLAN CASON, 26, of New Orleans, QUINTON COOKS, 35, of California, and TERRANCE MORGAN, 24, of New Orleans, each face serious charges that could lead to significant prison time. If convicted, CASON, COOKS, and MORGAN each face a maximum sentence of 10 years of imprisonment, up to a $250,000.00 fine, and up to 3 years supervised release for each count.

The charges against the three defendants stem from an ongoing investigation into firearms trafficking in the state. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) have been working closely together to identify and prosecute those involved in the trafficking of firearms.

Assistant United States Attorneys Maria Carboni and Matthew Payne are prosecuting the matter, and U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite has thanked the agencies for their hard work and dedication to bringing these crimes to justice.
