Robert Anthony Marsh Jr, Child Porn and Gun Charges, Louisiana 2024

New Orleans, Louisiana – Robert Anthony Marsh Jr., a 60-year-old resident of Metairie, has been hit with a stunning federal conviction for both the possession of child pornography and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

The charges stem from a December 19, 2024, raid on Marsh’s home by state and federal law enforcement. At the time, Marsh was already under supervised release following a 2014 conviction for pornography involving juveniles. The search yielded a Model 922 H&R Arms Co. firearm and a trove of child pornographic materials.

On August 26, 2025, Marsh entered his guilty plea in federal court. He admitted to possessing over 21 videos depicting the sexual victimization of minors, as well as the firearm. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a DOJ initiative targeting online exploitation of children.

Marsh faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years for the child porn charges and an additional fifteen years for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Sentencing is set for November 18, 2025, before Judge Darrel James Papillion.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson commended the efforts of various federal agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, ATF, and local law enforcement, in bringing Marsh to justice.

The investigation is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba, who serves as Project Safe Childhood Coordinator and Chief of the Financial Crimes Unit.
