A Gloucester County man has pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography, according to a recent press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Timothy Justin George, 27, of Gloucester County, pleaded guilty today to distribution of child pornography.
According to the statement of facts filed with the plea agreement, in September 2016, law enforcement conducted a search of George’s home and seized a number of electronic devices. A forensic examiner completed a forensic analysis of the devices and found over 31,000 images of child pornography.
George was indicted by a federal grand jury on Dec. 14, 2016.
He faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison when sentenced on May 8.
The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes, as the sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the court based on the advisory Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
