A Lincoln man has been sentenced to 12 1/2 years in prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine.
United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Timothy M. Felton, 37, was sentenced to 150 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and two counts of distribution of cocaine base.
The crimes occurred between February 2007 and April 2010, during which time Felton was held responsible for the distribution of approximately 5 ⅔ ounces of cocaine base.
In March 2010, a confidential informant working with the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force made two purchases of small amounts of cocaine base from Felton.
Felton’s sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release.
The matter was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force, which includes officers from the Lincoln Police Department, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department.
Felton’s sentencing brings an end to a lengthy investigation into the distribution of cocaine base in the Lincoln area.
