PORTLAND, Maine — A former landscaping company worker has been locked away for two decades for his sickening exploitation of minors. Henry Eichman, 65, a resident of Topsham, was handed a 20-year prison sentence today in U.S. District Court following his conviction on child pornography charges.
Eichman pleaded guilty last December to charges that he produced and possessed hundreds of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12. The disturbing material spanned from 2014 to 2016, according to court records.
His arrest came in August 2022 when a worker at a Brunswick landscaping company discovered Eichman’s sickening cache hidden under a kayak on the property. Among the trove of邪恶 content was evidence of Eichman himself setting up recording devices and participating in the abuse.
Eichman is already serving a 10-year sentence for sexually abusing children, to which he entered an Alford plea in state court in 2018. He will begin serving his new federal sentence after completing the state term.
The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations with support from the Topsham and Brunswick Police Departments.
Child sexual abuse material is a harrowing reality, with over 36 million reports of such content in 2023. If you suspect any activity related to child pornography or sexual exploitation, report it immediately at https://report.cybertip.org or call 1-800-843-5678.
