Birmingham, Alabama – In a move to combat the scourge of sex trafficking, U.S. Marshals arrested Torrvez Lemarcus Caldwell, 22, on Thursday in Birmingham. The charge stems from a 2015 incident, where Caldwell allegedly preyed upon a minor.
Caldwell appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge John Ott today for arraignment on the charge against him. He currently remains in custody.
The maximum penalty for sex trafficking a minor is life in prison and a $250,000 fine. The FBI investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Xavier O. Carter prosecuting.
