Trampas Quint Wolford, Methamphetamine Distribution, West Virginia 2021

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – Trampas Quint Wolford, a 57-year-old resident of Cabins, West Virginia, has been accused of involvement in a major methamphetamine distribution ring in the state.

Wolford was arraigned on charges after being indicted by a federal grand jury sitting in Elkins in February 2021, according to Acting United States Attorney Randolph J. Bernard.

The indictment charges Wolford with one count of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine and one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine.

He faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000 for each count, under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Wolford is accused of working with two other individuals to distribute methamphetamine from January 2019 to March 2019 in Preston and Grant Counties.

Angela Dawn Yuchek, 31, of Tunnelton, West Virginia, and Peter Sanford Layne, 48, of Cabins, West Virginia, were also named in the indictment, which alleges that they conspired with Wolford to distribute methamphetamine.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner on behalf of the government.

The investigation was conducted by the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, as well as the West Virginia State Police, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, and the Moorefield Police Department.

An indictment is merely an accusation, and Wolford is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the arraignment.
