A 10-year-old boy was snatched from his biological mother and whisked away to Cuba by his transgender parent and partner, sparking a desperate international manhunt. Rose Inessa-Ethington, 42, and Blue Inessa-Ethington, 32, were supposed to take the child on a camping trip to Canada, but instead, they vanished. The group’s whereabouts remained unknown for weeks, leaving the biological mother frantic with worry.
Court documents reveal the shocking twist: the pair had planned to fly to Havana, Cuba, where they were eventually caught by authorities. Mexican immigration authorities confirmed their arrival and departures. The FBI worked with international partners to track down the pair and bring them back to the US.
The biological mother shares custody of the child with Rose, her former spouse. The pair’s court-ordered custody agreement required the child to be returned to the biological mother after the camping trip, which never occurred.
Rose and Blue were deported from Cuba and made their first court appearance in Richmond, Virginia. They will face charges of International Parental Kidnapping in the District of Utah.
