Travis Jordan, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Louisiana 2025

New Orleans, Louisiana – In a shocking turn of events, Travis Jordan, a 39-year-old resident of Orleans Parish, has been sentenced to 21 months’ imprisonment for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, on February 18, 2024, Jordan was denied entry into the Saint Bar in Orleans Parish due to his intoxication. In response, Jordan instigated an altercation with an employee and a firearm fell from his waistband. As Jordan reached for the firearm, other employees, who witnessed the altercation, seized and secured the firearm. They then restrained Jordan until the police arrived.

This case is being prosecuted as part of the joint federal, state, and local Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program, the centerpiece of the violent crime reduction efforts. PSN is an evidence-based program proven to be effective at reducing violent crime. Through PSN, a broad spectrum of stakeholders work together to identify the most pressing violent crime problems in the community and develop comprehensive solutions to address them.

U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans praised the work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the New Orleans Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Troy Bell of the Violent Crime Unit.

As part of the sentence, Jordan will also serve a three-year term of supervised release and pay a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.00.
