Jentonnia Williams, 39, Indicted for Bank Robbery in New Orleans
A brazen bank robbery shook the streets of New Orleans on September 2, 2025, as Jentonnia Williams, 39, allegedly stormed into the Capital One Bank located in the 4100 block of Canal Street and made off with United States currency.
According to court documents, Williams, a resident of New Orleans, robbed the bank of its deposits, which are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The daring heist is now the subject of a federal indictment, which was handed down by a grand jury on September 19, 2025.
Williams faces a maximum term of imprisonment of twenty years, a fine of up to $250,000, up to three years of supervised release, and a mandatory $100 special assessment cost if convicted.
Acting United States Attorney Michael M. Simpson warned that an indictment is merely a charge and that the burden of proof lies with the prosecution to prove Williams’ guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Simpson praised the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Violent Crime Task Force in investigating the matter, which is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating violent crime.
Assistant United States Attorney Duane A. Evans will prosecute the case, which is also part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) streamlining efforts.
The investigation into Williams’ alleged crimes is ongoing, and she remains a suspect in the eyes of the law. As the case unfolds, one thing is clear: justice will not be served until the truth is revealed and accountability is taken.
