Travis Lamont Foote Sentenced to 12 Years for Sex Trafficking Conspiracy

Baltimore, Maryland – In a devastating blow to the scourge of sex trafficking, Travis Lamont Foote, a/k/a ‘Cash,’ was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in a sex trafficking conspiracy.

According to court documents, Foote, 31, of Baltimore, used social media sites to persuade and entice females to work for him in his prostitution business. His modus operandi was to create online personas to lure vulnerable women into his clutches, promising them a better life in exchange for their bodies.

One such victim, an 18-year-old woman from Florida, was lured to Baltimore by Foote’s promise of a high school diploma and a chance to start anew. However, upon arrival, she was thrust into a world of sex trafficking, forced to engage in commercial sex acts for Foote’s financial gain.

On November 14, 2012, an undercover detective from the Baltimore County Police Department Vice Unit conducted an operation, resulting in the arrest of Foote and several of his victims. Foote was subsequently arrested on May 16, 2013, after a traffic stop, where he was found to be in possession of an 18-year-old female, Jane Doe 2, who was listed in police records as a possible runaway.

Foote’s guilty plea and sentence were announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein and Special Agent in Charge William Winter of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Under the terms of his sentence, Foote must register as a sex offender in the place where he resides, where he is an employee, and where he is a student, under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA). His 12-year prison sentence is a stark reminder of the severe consequences that those involved in sex trafficking face.
