GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: In a stunning blow to the Trinitarios street gang, federal authorities have arrested WILVYN ANTONIO ROSARIO MARTINEZ, alias ‘Anthony,’ on charges of distributing fentanyl and selling firearms, including ghost guns, in New York. The 35-year-old, from Lynn, Massachusetts, is accused of fueling local violence with his deadly trade.
United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jay Clayton, and Special Agent in Charge of HSI New York’s Ricky J. Patel announced Martinez’s arrest. “As alleged, Rosario Martinez traveled from Massachusetts to New York to deal highly dangerous drugs and guns,” said Clayton. “The trafficking of these deadly poisons and lethal weapons fuels violence and overdose deaths in our communities.”
Martinez is charged with conspiring to distribute fentanyl and possessing numerous firearms, including an untraceable firearm and devices that converted it into a machine gun. He was presented before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the District of Massachusetts yesterday.
According to the allegations, between December 2024 and May 2025, Martinez and his associates sold approximately 580 grams of powder fentanyl, counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl, seven firearms, over 100 rounds of ammunition, five firearm switches, and other accessories. NYPD analysis confirmed that the ghost gun could be converted into a fully automatic machine gun.
HSI Special Agent in Charge Patel emphasized the threat posed by Martinez’s activities: “Wilvyn Antonio Rosario Martinez and his associates are accused of crimes that jeopardize the public’s safety. The firearms, switches, and fentanyl pills they possessed could have caused irreparable harm or death to countless members of our New York neighborhoods.”
Martinez faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison for conspiring to distribute fentanyl, with a maximum life sentence. The case is part of an ongoing effort to dismantle the Trinitarios gang and its illegal activities.
