John Doe and Michael Brown, Child Pornography, Louisiana 2022

Two South Louisiana men are behind bars after being busted in a sweeping cybercrime crackdown targeting the possession and distribution of child pornography. Urban Kinchen, 61 of Springfield, and Johnathan Croy, 36 of Ponchatoula, were arrested following a multi-agency investigation led by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation’s Cyber Crime Unit.

Kinchen faces 15 counts of Possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children under the age of 13. Authorities say digital evidence seized during the probe ties him directly to the illegal material. He was booked into Livingston Parish Prison without bond and awaits formal arraignment.

Croy is charged with four counts of Possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children under 13 and two counts of Distribution of the same. Investigators confirmed he allegedly shared graphic content across encrypted networks. He was taken into custody and booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

The arrests came from a coordinated sweep involving Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Louisiana State Police, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Ponchatoula Police Department. Officials say digital footprints don’t disappear—and predators who operate online are not invisible.

Attorney General Jeff Landry made it clear: “My office and I remain committed to finding and apprehending those accused of Internet crimes against children.” He credited interagency cooperation for the takedown and vowed more arrests are coming as the probe expands.

To report suspected child exploitation, the public is urged to call the LBI hotline at 800-256-4506—anonymous tips are accepted. Landry’s Cyber Crime Unit has prosecuted thousands of cases involving victims as young as infants, reinforcing a zero-tolerance stance on crimes targeting Louisiana’s most vulnerable.
