A brazen thief has been brought to justice after stealing packages from unsuspecting residents in Pittsburgh’s upscale Shadyside neighborhood. Tyrone Mobley, 49, of Pittsburgh, Pa., was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison for his role in the theft of mail.
According to the information presented to the court, Mobley stole packages delivered from the United States Postal Service to residents in Shadyside between October and November, 2015. The investigation revealed that Mobley’s actions caused significant financial loss to his victims, with a total of $2,350.27 in restitution ordered.
Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C. Melucci prosecuted this case on behalf of the government, working tirelessly to ensure that justice was served. Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song commended the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Department of Homeland Security for the investigation that led to the successful prosecution of Tyrone Mobley.
