Used Car Sales Manager Sentenced to Prison for $200,000 Embezzlement Scheme
A San Antonio woman was sentenced to prison for her role in a brazen embezzlement scheme that saw her steal over $200,000 from her former employer, Enterprise Holdings.
Jamie Dawn McCord, 37, of Universal City, Texas, was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison, as well as ordered to pay $209,041.08 in restitution to Enterprise Holdings, and placed on supervised release for three years after completing her prison term.
McCord, the former San Antonio Area Sales Manager for Enterprise, pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud in 2015. By pleading guilty, she admitted to manipulating company records and providing false information to Enterprise officials in Texas and Missouri in order to hide her embezzlement of cash down payments from customers purchasing Enterprise vehicles in San Antonio.
The investigation into McCord’s crimes was conducted by the FBI, with Assistant United States Attorney Greg Surovic prosecuting the case on behalf of the Government.
According to court documents, McCord’s scheme ran from January 2007 to September 2014. During this time, she manipulated company records and provided false information to her superiors in order to embezzle cash down payments from customers. The total amount of money she stole was over $200,000.
Mccord’s prison sentence is a result of her own admission of guilt in the court. She has now been held accountable for her actions, and will face the consequences of her crimes. The FBI’s investigation into this case is a testament to their commitment to holding individuals accountable for their crimes.
The case serves as a reminder to businesses to be vigilant and proactive in preventing similar schemes from occurring in the future.
