Virginia Man Sentenced to 188 Months for Child Pornography and Sex Tourism
RANDALL MECK, 52, from Virginia, has been sentenced to 188 months in federal prison for possessing and distributing child pornography. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Reggie B. Walton following Meck’s guilty plea on April 2, 2025.
Meck was arrested at Dulles International Airport in December 2024 after law enforcement recovered 180 videos and 560 images depicting child sexual abuse from his phone. The charges stem from a Facebook investigation that revealed Meck’s involvement in sex tourism and the intent to travel to the Philippines for illicit purposes.
During an undercover operation, Meck shared explicit content with an agent and arranged meetings with minors. His actions led to his arrest upon returning from the Philippines. After waiving his Miranda rights, Meck confessed to traveling to the country repeatedly between 2021 and 2024 to engage in sexual activities with children.
“Children are our most precious resource,” said U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. “Those who seek to exploit and harm them will face the full weight of justice.” In addition to his prison term, Meck is required to serve a lifetime of supervised release, register as a sex offender, and pay $5,000 in restitution.
This case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative targeting child exploitation. The FBI Washington Field Office and MPD’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parron and former Assistant U.S. Attorney Jocelyn Bond prosecuted the case.
