Ángel Alexis Vázquez-Sánchez, Child Exploitation, PR 2024

San Juan, Puerto Rico – A 27-year-old man from Jayuya, PR, Ángel Alexis Vázquez-Sánchez, has been sentenced to 300 months (25 years) in federal prison for exploiting minors. The sentence also includes a 15-year term of supervised release.

Vázquez-Sánchez was indicted on March 5, 2024, and pleaded guilty on January 29, 2025. Court documents reveal that between December 2021 and May 2023, the defendant sexually exploited four females aged 12 to 16, coercing them into engaging in sexual activities and producing explicit images.

The exploitation involved Vázquez-Sánchez using his cellular device, social media, and communication platforms to entice the minors into explicit conduct. He solicited and received such images, requesting sexual acts or contact from the minors.

The investigation was spearheaded by the FBI, with significant assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Inspector General (OIG). Assistant US Attorney Jenifer Y. Hernández-Vega prosecuted the case.

This sentence comes as part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse since May 2006. The initiative aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children online, as well as identify and rescue victims.
