Calvin Bryant, a notorious Las Vegas drug lord, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in importing massive quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl into the city. From April 2, 2019 to April 2, 2024, Bryant conspired with his co-defendants to distribute these deadly drugs throughout Las Vegas and the United States. The operation was vast, with Bryant and his partner Kefer Funches purchasing drugs on a large scale and redistributing them to numerous couriers and resellers.
The scope of the operation was staggering, with law enforcement seizing 40.98 kilograms of actual methamphetamine, 34.08 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1,105.3 grams of fentanyl, .5 grams of heroin, and 1 kilogram of cocaine. Bryant’s organization was a well-oiled machine, with multiple apartments serving as ‘trap houses’ where drugs were sold to end-users.
Bryant’s guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances marked the end of a long and complex investigation. The government had requested a sentence of 300 months, but Judge Richard F. Boulware II ultimately sentenced Bryant to 12 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
The sentence sends a clear message to would-be drug traffickers: law enforcement will dismantle criminal networks that poison our neighborhoods. As First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah noted, ‘We remain committed to protecting public safety and stopping the flow of illegal drugs into our communities.’ The conviction is a testament to the tireless work of law enforcement partners who worked to bring Bryant to justice.
