MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a shocking case of child neglect, 26-year-old Salasha Fae Bosley from Wagoner, Oklahoma has been sentenced to 168 months in prison for each of two counts of Child Neglect in Indian Country. The sentences will run concurrently, totaling 14 years behind bars.
The charges stem from a harrowing investigation by the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Bosley pleaded guilty on December 12, 2024, for failing to provide two children with essential care between September 2023 and June 16, 2024. One child suffered life-threatening injuries due to the neglect, necessitating lifelong medical intervention.
The crimes took place within the Cherokee Nation Reservation in Wagoner County, Eastern District of Oklahoma. FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent in Charge Doug Goodwater commented, “The defendant willfully and shamefully put two innocent children at grave risk.”
United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson echoed the sentiment, expressing gratitude to the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI for their efforts in rescuing the children from deplorable conditions.
The Honorable John F. Heil, III presided over the hearing. Bosley was remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service to be transported to a federal prison facility for her non-paroleable sentence. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Paladino represented the United States in court.
