Grimy Times has learned that Roger Bettelyoun, a 57-year-old man from Wanblee, South Dakota, was sentenced to time served after being convicted of distributing controlled substances.
According to court records, on September 24, 2011, Bettelyoun sold marijuana cigarettes, a clear violation of federal law.
Bettelyoun, who pleaded guilty to the charge on November 28, 2012, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken on February 25, 2013.
The sentence includes 2 years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Ted L. McBride serving as the prosecuting attorney.
